About Me

Hi! I am James Bucholtz and this is my page. I have been married to my beautiful wife Daniela for ten years and have two wonderful children; Kiara and Mateo. I spent eight years in the US Air Force and decided to get out in 2006 to teach English overseas. I decided to become an educator so that I could inspire children to learn, just as my teachers fostered my love of knowledge.
We have spent several years overseas living or visiting many countries in Europe, Southeast Asia, and North Africa. We lived in Plovdiv, Bulgaria for three years and absolutely loved it. While there I completed my Master of Arts in Ancient History. The focus for my studies was Thrace and its effect upon the ancient Aegean cultures.
More recently we moved back to the US to Corpus Christi, Texas and teach Social Studies at Taft ISD. History is the most fundamental subject for any culture because if you do not know where you have been, you cannot move forward. History teaches us our lessons of the past so long as we are willing to learn.
